(Villa Rica, GA) — The Lady Braves varsity softball open its regular season tonight at the Villa Rica Invitational at the V-Plex in Villa Rica.

The Lady Braves will  play two games tonight, and three on Saturday.

Tonight, the girls will face the McIntosh Chiefs at 7:15 p.m. before meeting the Central-Carrollton Lions at 8:45 p.m. Saturday’s game schedule will depend on Friday’s results.

Head Coach Matt Hornsby and the Lady Braves enter the season with very high expectations after finishing third in the state last season and returning most of the squad.

The team will also have a new face tonight with the addition of senior Shelby O’Neal, an outstanding transfer from Lagrange.

Hornsby is ready for the first game tonight. “We had a really good practice on Thursday and we are ready to finally get the season underway,” said Hornsby.
