Lady Braves still perfect after routing Hornets

(Franklin, GA) — The Heard County Lady Braves improved to 3-0 on the young season with an impressive 64-22 win over the Hampton Hornets in Franklin Friday night.

The Lady Braves jumped out to a 20 point halftime lead in the game and never looked back.

Nine different players scored in the game for Coach Helen Akins including freshman Jayden Boykin who led the way with 12 and senior Hermonie Garza who also reached double-digits with 12.

Other leading scorers for the Lady Braves included Jasmine Owens with nine, Zekylah Boyd with eight, Sophia Long with seven, and Mykhia Echols with six.

The Lady Braves will look to remain perfect this Tuesday nigh when they take on Central — this time in Franklin.

The varsity game will tip at 6:00 PM or following the junior varsity girls game that starts at 4:30 PM.

The varsity Lady Braves will also host Oak Mountain Thursday at 6:00 PM in a game that was moved up from Friday due to playoff football.

The JV Lady Braves coached by Shaqueri Talmadge notched their first win of the season Friday afternoon winning by a final score of 36-32 over Hampton.

Shyann Kelley led the way in the close win with 16 points along with Camille Gaskins who scored 12.
