The prep duo comprised of senior Taylor Paris and sophomore Shelby Oldham defeated seven other teams at the event but narrowly missed the top three finish needed to qualify for the state tournament.

Shelby shot a solid round of 104 and Taylor closed out her varsity career with a 117.

Head golf coach D.J. Curbow was extremely proud of both girls.

“Taylor played really well this year and for all three of her years in our program — she has been such a pleasure to coach,” said Curbow.

“Shelby is one of the best golfers I’ve coached and has a great shot to play golf at the next level. She had an outstanding season.”

Paris is one of the most well-rounded student athletes at HCHS having excelled in several sports while maintaining a high GPA and serving as a positive role model to younger students.

Oldham tied for low score versus Troup County in the team’s last regular season match and had two great nine hole rounds of 48 late in the season.

The third Lady Brave golfer junior Caroline Jones was unable to compete the last few weeks of the season due to injury but should come back strong for her senior season in 2020.
