Letter to the Editor: An important message from the Stutts family

To The Heard County Community:

At Stutts Funeral Home, we value each and every family who entrusts us to care for their loved one.

Elizabeth Stutts Gilbert (L) and Katy Stutts Hannah (R)

We would like to thank each member of our community who has supported our family-owned business and entrusted us to care for your loved ones in your time of need.

As you may know, we lost two very valuable members of our family, staff, and the community in 2019, Leesa S. Cothran and Tommy Stutts, both of whom devoted their lives to serving our community.

They loved and cared for countless families both inside and outside the funeral home.

It is the mission of Stutts Funeral Home to remain family owned and operated and to continue to serve the families and friends of our community with the same love, compassion, and respect that our grandparents, Tom & Esther Stutts, our Aunt Leesa, and our dad, Tommy, always did.

During this time of transition, we would like to assure you that the funeral home you have known and trusted for many years will continue to be owned and operated by Tommy’s daughters — Elizabeth and Katy.

We plan to continue the legacy our loved ones left behind by helping you feel as comfortable as possible during your time of loss and beyond.

Mr. Dennis House

Additionally, we are very proud to introduce a new member of our Stutts Funeral Home staff, Mr. Dennis House, who will be serving as our Funeral Director and Embalmer.

Dennis has 48 years of experience in funeral service, and he graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service with Tommy in 1983. We are very excited to welcome him to our staff.

Again, we cannot thank our community enough for all of the love and support you have shown us throughout the years, and especially this past year.

With Love,

Elizabeth S. Gilbert and Katy S. Hannah
