Letter To The Editor: Coach Barron addresses Brave Nation

Dear Braves fans,

We are calling for all Parents, Fans and Alumni to get involved! We are currently in the process of restructuring our Touchdown Booster Club. We are seeking new officers in every position.

Our coaches and players work hard to put the very best product on the field, one that will make this community proud. We take a lot of pride in knowing that how we perform can affect many people in this area.

We know and understand that for many of you “Friday Night in Franklin” is something that you look forward to every week.

These coaches and young men not only practice in the fall. Training for football is a year round event. While many schools see the off-season as a time to relax, at Heard County we know and understand that the off-season is what makes or breaks us during the season.

I say all of the above only to lead into the fact that we need a booster club that is willing to work as hard as the young men are working.

We are on the verge of becoming a top five Class AA football program in the state of Georgia. The players and the coaches will not and cannot make that jump without a strong support system. The old saying “if you always do what you have always done, then you will always get what you have always got” is so true in athletics.

When someone talks about the great programs in the state of Georgia, I can guarantee you that there is a very strong Booster Club that is helping them move forward. There is no reason whatsoever that we should not have a booster club with a minimum of 100 participants.

Joining the booster club does not mean you have to attend every meeting or that you have to be wealthy to make a difference. We need every parent, every alumnus, and every fan to take an active role in building this program!

We will have a meeting on March 3rd at 6:30 in the main lobby of the high school. I am asking that you talk to every one you know and let’s have the largest turnout in the history of the school.

Furthermore, if you would be interested running for a position of office, I would ask that you email me at tim.barron@heard.k12.ga.us.

Sincerely,

Coach Tim Barron
