Local Independent Film Debuts This Weekend

(Bremen, GA) — A new film called “Backfired” and produced by Nivek Co Partner Productions will debut Saturday night (7:00 PM) at Mount Holly Church in Bremen, GA and features several local talents.

The film is written and directed by Franklin’s own Kevin Raines who is also one of the producers. Backfired is a low-budget independent film and was shot in several areas around Heard and Carroll Counties over a six day period.

Some of the locations of filming included Banning Mills near Whitesburg as well as the Frolona Road and Armstrong Mill Road areas in Heard County.

Raines also produced the soundtrack for the movie. “We would love to give a special thanks to all the volunteers from Heard County including the parents of some of our leads,” said Raines. “We were so grateful to have the help and participation!”

One of the main leads is HHS Cheerleader Madelyn Rusinyak. The other producers of the film include Vicki Brown, Lisa Rusinyak, and Pam Sheppard. According to the synopsis, Backfired is a tween comedy built around a group of kampers and the unlikely friendships that form through their adventures.

The remaining cast of the movie includes Joshua Sheppard, Hope Gallegos, Taylor Green, Cody Bradley, Jantzen McDonald, Charliegh McGhee Adair, Jessica Maxwell, Kamyrn Smith, Paige Welch, Jessie Holloman, Yoel Kanchelov, and Brady Sheppard.
