Local Kids Enjoy Heard County 4-H Lock-In

A total of 73 attended last week’s lock-in and another one is being planned for the near future

(Franklin) — Over 70 people attended the Heard County 4-H Lock-In last Friday night at the Old Recreation Department in Franklin.

Around 60 kids from grades 4-6 enjoyed games, relays, a bonfire, and smore-making. In the seasonal spirit, the kids also made monsters from milk jugs and watched “Hotel Transylvania.”

The group also wrote messages to state legislators in honor of 4-H week and collected canned goods for the local food pantry.

4-H director Dinah Rowe would like to thank adult volunteers Christine Nolley,  Stacey and Doug Walker along with teen leaders Dustey Reeves, Megan Jordan, Bo Hazel, Jacob Moreland, Russ Moody, Colson Jiles, Alexis Levins, Beverly Johnson, Charles Bryan, and Beth Taylor for helping make the event possible.

Another lock-in is planned in the near future. To learn more about 4-H visit the Heard County 4-H facebook page.
