(Franklin) — A local man is currently in the Heard County jail facing numerous charges after he was involved in a one vehicle accident last Wednesday near Franklin.
According to the accident report released by the Georgia State Patrol, the crash occurred in the early afternoon around 1:20 p.m. on HWY 34 East, just outside of the Franklin city limits.
A Dodge Ram driven by Robert Lee Kyttle, 40-years-old, of Franklin, was eastbound when it hit a bridge, then a guardrail, and traveled down an embankment and hit a tree.
Kyttle fled into the woods after the crash, and then later turned himself into authorities on Thursday.
He is charged with Leaving The Scene of An Accident, Failure To Report Accident With Damages, Failure To Maintain Lane, Suspended Registration, No Insurance, and Failure To Notify Owner Upon Striking A Fixed Object.
