Local resident completes education training program

(Franklin, GA) — Sabrina South Thompson completed her Google for Education Certified Trainer Program this summer.

She is a Franklin resident and Media Specialist at Temple High.

After receiving her Google Educator Level I and Level II in February, she decided to complete the Google for Education Certified Trainer Program. She is one of the first Google for Education Certified Trainers in Carroll County.

Sabrina will have an exclusive look at the latest Google releases for education before they are offered to everyone.

The network of trainers will also give her access to professional development resources for her teachers from educators across the world. Sabrina has been in the education field for 12 years.

Temple High is currently using Chromebooks in classrooms to promote more meaningful and connected learning. Soon, she will be working on video tutorials about Google using Chrome extension screen recorders.

Sabrina would like to enhance professional learning opportunities for educators by using virtual learning environments. She also uses Twitter (@TigersREAD) to connect with educators across the world.

After researching and deciding Temple High would benefit from Google certifications for teachers, she plans to provide an opportunity for teachers at Temple High to receive the Google Level I and Level II certifications to enhance their classrooms.

She also collaborates with her mother, Glovis South, Media Specialist at Heard County Middle School.

Mrs. Thompson is looking forward to working with educators around the world.
