Local teen competing in Georgia Forestry Pageant

(Franklin, GA) — Miss Cora Betts, daughter of Andrew and Jennifer Betts will be representing Heard County on July 25th at the 81st Miss Georgia Forestry Scholarship Pageant at the Performing Arts Center in Tifton, GA.

Cora is a 13-year-old eighth grade student at Heard County Middle School and has a platform to help stop bullying. She has a heart for special needs students and plans to be a special needs teacher one day.

Queens will serve as Ambassadors with Smokey Bear in promoting the Forestry Industry for Georgia.

The Forestry Pageant is the oldest Scholarship Pageant in Georgia. The pageant was started in 1940 and is designed not only for the contestants in mind, but also to promote the Forestry Industry.
