Recommended by Mr. Brady Tillman of Heard County High School, Tiana Spearman wrote a community service essay and submitted photos and other required credentials to enter a nationwide contest for the cover of a catalog known as Anderson’s School Events.
This contest highlights teen girls for their philanthropist spirit and devotion to the betterment of their community.
The winner receives a cash prize, a $500 Anderson’s merchandise certificate for their high school, and an all-expense paid weekend trip to Minneapolis/St. Paul.
The trip includes all transportation and accommodations for her and one parent with first class air fare, a limo driver to tour the twin cities, and the cover teen’s all-day photo shoot at the Anderson Studio.
The first runner-up was from California, the second runner-up was from Minnesota, and the winner of the contest was Tiana Spearman from Georgia. She was chosen to be the Cover Girl for 2011-2012.
The Anderson’s School Events Company was most impressed with her commitment to academic excellence while participating in numerous high school and community service activities especially the implementation of new youth programs for the Heard County Special Olympics athletes.
In one of their catalogs, they spotlighted Tiana by comparing her to the Disney® “Princess Tiana”, stating that “like the character from the movie, Tiana is smart, beautiful, and industrious.”
Tiana and Heard County High School were highlighted on the front and back of catalogs from fall of 2011 thru summer of 2012. Tiana also completed a video, posed for photos advertising the new 2012-2013 Cover Teen Contest, and modeled many new gorgeous tiaras on sale inside of the catalogs.
As a gift she was awarded a large stunning tiara which she wore homecoming night at Heard High School when she crowned Katie Lego the new queen. She will complete her reigning as 2011-2012 Cover Teen this summer, but continue to be featured in the catalog for years to come.
The Anderson catalogs feature a tiara named “Tiana”. The tiara is on sale for $14.99 in the company’s high school, prom, and homecoming catalogs.
