Magistrate Court Judges Receive Faculty Medallions

(Athens, GA) — On Monday, October 20, the following Magistrate Court Judges received a faculty medallion from the Institute of Continuing Judicial Education (ICJE):  Chief Judge Allen Wigington of Pickens County, Judge Betsey Kidwell of Heard County, Chief Judge Kristina Blum and Judge Robert Mitchum, both of Gwinnett County.

The faculty medallion is given to conference speakers who have obtained an evaluation rating from conference attendees of 4.5 or more on a 5 point scale at least three times.

The faculty medallion was presented by current ICJE trustee, Magistrate / Municipal Judge Thomas Bobbitt, III of Laurens County.

The presentation occurred during the ICJE: 12-Hour Magistrate Recertification Survey II course held at the Hilton Savannah DeSoto, October 20-21, 2014.

Chief Judge Blum, Judge Kidwell and Judge Mitchum were presenters at this course and Chief Judge Allen Wigington has taught at both certification courses for new Magistrates previously this year.

Chief Judge Blum, Judge Kidwell and Chief Judge Wigington are also active members of the Georgia Council of Magistrate Court Judges as well as serving as mentors to newly appointed judges.
