Manhunt suspect found in Heard County

Frank James Dailey, Jr.

(Franklin, GA) — A man suspected of leading authorities on an overnight manhunt in Coweta County earlier this month is now in jail.

Frank James Dailey, 39, is facing charges of narcotics possession, speeding, driving on a suspended license, and violation of parole after he fled from authorities during a traffic stop on Aug. 1.

Authorities from the U.S. Marshals office assisted the GBI West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office in locating Dailey in Heard County last week.

After arriving at 24 Judy Court in southeastern Heard County, authorities spoke with Melissa Cook, who allegedly denied that Dailey was inside the home.

However, investigators were able to locate the fugitive boarded up inside the wall of a closet. After successfully extracting him, authorities placed him in custody, according to GBI Special Agent Joe Chestnut.

Melissa Cook, 40, was charged by Heard County authorities with Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement and Harboring a Fugitive from Justice.

Dailey is being held at the Coweta County Jail without bond.
