Mario Diapalo Derring

Mr. Mario Diapalo Derring passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 at his home in Franklin, Georgia. Mario was born September 16, 1982 in Troup County Georgia.

As a highly decorated Veteran in The United States Army National Guard,  Mario was medically retired after serving over a year active service and over two years reserve service.  A large portion of his service was overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mario leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted mother, Linda Laye; Step father, Charlie Laye; brother, William “Lamar” Hill; grandmother, Lucille Boykin; aunt Christine Boykin; and a host of cousins and friends.  He will be immensely loved and missed by all.

The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Stevenson, officiating. Burial will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetey with Military Honors.

    Mario also leaves behind many many friends who loved him dearly. Among those friends was Christopher Wright who was by his side night and day, through thick and thin. To Mario Chris was more than a friend, he was his brother.
