Madison, a 14-year-old soon to be freshman cheerleader at the high school, received scholarship monies, luggage, gifts, as well as several other prizes for her big accomplishment which will keep her very busy during the next 12 months. She will also enjoy a cruise.

As Miss Jr. Teen America 2013, Madison will promote the program by making a minimum of 24 personal appearances during her reign. She will also be on hand at next year’s pageant to crown her successor.

Her first day as Miss Jr. Teen America was already a busy one as she spent time Sunday doing several photo shoots and signing contracts before returning home late Sunday night. She is ecstatic about fulfilling one of her dreams of winning a national pageant.

“I think it’s just now finally starting to sink in. I was just so shocked when they called my name I never expected it,” said Laprade. “I’m really looking forward to this upcoming year. It will be so exciting to travel, meet new people, promote my issue of concern, and represent the pageant. Thank you so much to everyone for all of the supportive messages, texts, and phone calls.”

Despite the very busy upcoming year, she stated vehemently that her school work and varsity cheerleading will remain her top priority.

Madison will be spending a lot of time with Miss Teen America Lindsay Dobbs, also from Georgia. Madison was accompanied on the trip by her top supporter and mother Joy Laprade who shared in her excitement.

“Madison’s reaction was priceless as they called her name as the winner Saturday night. She was so overwhelmed with emotion I thought she was about to faint, and she could not stop crying! It honestly was so sweet and endearing to see how truly appreciative she was. I thank God for blessing me with such a wonderful daughter who is beautiful both inside and out,” said Joy Laprade.
