Mother of Ephesus Elementary student killed in Troup County crash

(Troup County, GA) — The mother of a local kindergarten student was killed in a car crash early Thursday morning in Troup County.

29-year-old Samantha Alicia Martin Milhauser died after a two-vehicle collision near the 3400 block of West Point Road. Milhauser was the passenger in one of two vehicles involved and the drivers of both vehicles were transported to Columbus Piedmont hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

According to a report by the Georgia State Patrol, the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash and charges are pending.

Samantha leaves behind one daughter, Chloe Milhauser. Chloe is a kindergarten student at Ephesus Elementary school.

Her mother Shirley Williams Martin is also a Heard County resident.

“I miss my daughter dearly,” said Shirley Martin over the weekend. “Sam was a very loving person — she would give the shirt off her back if you needed it.”

Samantha attended Newnan High School and Heard County Schools for a short time and participated in Air Force ROTC programs.

Funeral services for Samantha will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 4:00 pm at the Open Range Cowboy Church in Greenville with Rev. Mike Reeves officiating.

Higgins Funeral Home LaGrange Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
