Mr. Artie Kelley Jr.

KelleyMr. Artie Kelley Jr. was born on November 8, 1922 to the late Artie Kelley, Sr., and Mary Kelley of Franklin, Georgia.

On May 6, 2013, and at the age of 91 years, Mr. Kelley was quietly called to his Heavenly Home.

Mr. Kelley was a long time member of the Mt. Zion Community Church, and lived a full life including serving in the United States Army in 1941 for four years and nine months, where he fought in World War II. He also worked at Franklin Aluminum for several years and in the logging industry.

On March 1, 1941, Mr. Kelley was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Mrs. Nellie Kelley; and celebrated 72 years this year.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by 4 of his children, sons, Charles “Pop” Kelley and Render Kelley; and two daughters, Clovia “Annette” Rogers and Brenda Kelley as well as a host of brothers and sisters.

Mr. Kelley leaves to cherish his memory his devoted, and beloved wife, Nellie Kelley; three loving daughters: Linda Emory, Eloise Person (Eddie), and Patricia Truitt; four loving sons: Johnny Kelley(Patricia), Jeffrey Truitt(Lorraine), Ricky Truitt(Vickie), and Tony Rogers(Sandra); brothers: M.L. Kelley(Sissy) and Winston Kelley; sister: Minnie Kilby; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Mt. Zion Community Church with Rev. Reuben Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Church Cemetery.

The family will be at their home at 495 Doc Fisher Road, Franklin.
