Mr. Bill Holliday

Mr. Robert William “Bill” Holliday, age 90, of Franklin passed away Sunday July 29, 2018.

Funeral services for Mr. Holliday will be conducted Thursday August 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Rev. Brandon Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Heard County Memorial Gardens.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mr. Holliday was born October 7, 1927 in Anderson County, SC to the late Ernest Martin Holliday and Eva Lorene Lollis Holliday. He was a Christian by faith.

He served his country in the US Army during the aftermath of World War II. He was stationed briefly in Japan and experienced the recovery effort in the years 1946-1947.

After his time in the Army he worked several odd jobs, then was employed by Signal Delivery Services in Atlanta as a truck driver. He retired from Signal Delivery Services in 1992 after 36 years of service.

He was a man of the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. He also loved to spend time on his favorite tractor tending his garden and keeping the grass cut. He almost always wore his trademark coveralls while he stayed busy.

He was interested in family history, and took pride in being a distant cousin of Doc Holliday, an associate of Wyatt Earp and a participant in the famous Gunfight at the OK Corral.

Survivors include his wife, Teena Holliday of Franklin; two daughters, Gina Moore (Gerald) of McDonough and Regina Morrow (Mark) of Macon; four sons, Scott Holliday (Chan) of Franklin, Lee Holliday (Amy) of Franklin, Randall Holliday (Rose) of Franklin, and Darrell Holliday (Tara) of Suwanee; step-daughter, Trina Blocher (Loren) of Dothan, AL; step-son, Craig Simmons of Rock Mills, AL; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Furman Holliday.
