Mr. Billy Joe Walston, age 58, popular Kimberly Clark employee, of Franklin, Georgia passed away on June 25, 2012 at the Hospice LaGrange.
Funeral services for Mr. Walston will be conducted on Friday, June 29, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. from the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home in Franklin, Georgia with the Reverend Leonard Hodge officiating.
The interment will follow in the Harmony United Methodist Church. The family will receive guests at the funeral home Thursday evening, June 28, 2012 from 6-8 P.M.
Mr. Walston was born in LaGrange, Georgia on November 2, 1953, the son of the late Lillie Maude Rosamond Walston and Albert Woodrow Walston. He was a Christian by faith and sang in the choir at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in LaGrange, Georgia.
For twenty years he has been a faithful employee at the Kimberly Clark Company. Billy Joe loved working in his garden where he grew delicious vegetables and raised chickens.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially riding his Harley. He enjoyed life to its fullest. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by one daughter, Amanda Creel of LaGrange, GA; son, Nicholas Simpson of Franklin, GA.; step-daughter, Joy Mann of Phoenix City, AL.; step-son, Marty Mann of Montgomery, AL.; three sisters, Lillian Childress of Thomson, GA. ,Annette Kaskinen of Vidalia, GA., and Cathy Carroll of Fayetteville, GA.; seven brothers, Gene Walston of LaGrange, GA., Johnny Walston of Brooks, GA, Howard Walston of Grantville, GA., David Walston of Opelika, AL., Calvin Walston of LaGrange, GA., Hayward Walston of Opelika, AL., and Frankie Walston of Franklin, GA.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a number of adoring nieces and nephews; and special friend Vicky Beeland of Franklin, GA.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by two beloved brothers, Charles and Thomas Walston.
The Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia are in charge of arrangements.
