Mr. Bobby Copeland

Mr. Robert Clyde “Bobby” Copeland, age 56 of Franklin, Georgia passed away on September 8, 2012 at the Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.

A memorial service for Mr. Copeland will be held Thursday, September 13, 2012, at 5:00 P.M., from the Franklin First Baptist Church with the Reverend Scott Hannah officiating. The family will receive guests at the church immediately following the service.

Mr. Copeland was born on November 5, 1955, the son of the late Donna Ruth Tinsley Copeland and Robert Burton Copeland. He received his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, and his Master of Theology from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He was a faithful member of the Franklin First Baptist Church, where he served on several mission teams, sang in the church choir, and was active in many different aspects of church life.

Before his retirement, he served as camp director of Burnt Mountain Baptist Camp in Jasper, Georgia, Rockridge Baptist Assembly in Franklin, Georgia, and last at Highland Lakes Baptist Camp in Martinsville, Indiana. He was well-known by all in the community. His presence will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved ex-wife, Jaye Cummings Copeland of Stockbridge, Georgia.; two sons, Clyde Copeland, Jr. (Nicole) of Houston, Texas, and Zac Copeland of LaGrange, Georgia; and two brothers, Wayne and Joe Copeland both of Idabel, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Rockridge Baptist Assembly, P.O. Box 267, Franklin, Georgia 30217, or Highland Lakes Baptist Camp, 7605 State Road 39, Martinsville, Indiana  46151

The Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.

      Steve, what a sweet surprise to receive your thoughts and prayers. Are you still in the Troup/Heard County area? The past two weeks have been difficult, but Bobby was honored at his memorial in both Georgia and Oklahoma. Thank you again.
