Mr. Bobby Joe Hamlin, Sr.

Mr. Bobby Joe Hamlin, Sr., age 78, of Franklin passed away November 27, 2021.

His funeral will be held Tuesday November 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Olive Branch Baptist Church with Bro. George Daniel officiating.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mr. Hamlin was born September 20, 1943 in Troup County to the late O. K. Hamlin and Veila Henderson Hamlin. He was an active member of Olive Branch Baptist Church until his health began to fail him.

One of his favorite pastimes was working with wood and making furniture and yard accessories. This skill came in very handy as a sign installer for Signs, Inc.

An outdoorsman at heart, he loved to take trips to the river to go fishing.

He had a light-hearted sense of humor, loved to laugh, and was known as a prankster. This endeared him to everyone who knew him.

He held a special place in his heart for his family and loved to gather everyone together for food and fellowship. He was known for his skills with smoking meats and bar-be-que.

Survivors include: three daughters: Wanda Marie Howard (George) of Smith Station, AL, Sherry Kylestewa (Phil) of Raeford, NC, and Teresa Pannell of Salem, AL; one son, Bobby Joe Hamlin, Jr. (Wanda) of Augusta; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his beloved dogs, Little Man and Cricket; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Awanda Webb Hamlin, two sisters, and four brothers.
