Mr.Charles Frank Person

Person ObitMr. Charles Frank Person was born on August 22, 1911 in Heard County, Georgia to the late Mr. & Mrs. Ben Person.

At an early age, he joined the New Hope Baptist Church where his family had very strong roots, in the Heard County community. Frank served as a deacon and chairman at New Hope Baptist Church for many years.

Frank grew up and attended New Hope School in Heard County. He united in marriage with the late Ruby Fielder Person. Frank was a devoted husband of 57 years, and had one son Robert Bobby Person.

In 1942, Frank served in the military for four years, and fought in World War II. While serving in the military he received an American Theatre Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and a Victory Medal.

Frank worked at Mack Motors, Inc. in New Jersey for many years. He also worked at the Rutgers University College in New Jersey as the head chef where he finally retired.

Frank will be well-remembered for his love for farming and live stock for many years. He was preceded in death by both parents, four brothers, and six sisters.

Charles Frank Person was very much-loved, appreciated and supported by his family, and gave many smiles to the world during his lifetime making many friends along the way.

He departed his life on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the VA Hospital In Decatur, GA at the age of 101.

He leaves to celebrate his life, mourn his departure, and cherish many loving memories, his son Robert Bobby Person of LaGrange; three sisters: Willie Dean Person of Detroit, MI; Irene Crawford of Birmingham, AL and Tommy Reid of Stockbridge, GA; Special nephew Jesse Brown of Franklin, GA; Special Great Niece Cathy Brown of Franklin, GA; Special Great Nephew Larry Brown of Roanoke, AL; and a Special friend Jay Truitt of Franklin, GA.

Finally, there are a large number of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends throughout the community.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2:00 at New Hope Baptist Church, Franklin.

Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
