Mr. Lane was born February 14, 1959 in Newnan to Johnnie Burdette Lane and Mary Lena Hawk Lane. He was a carpenter by trade and a Baptist by faith.

He was proud to say that he was a country boy. He loved to ramble in the woods searching for old home places and odd things. One of his passions was finding pieces of wood from old trees and creating pieces of art from them.

One of Miss Mary’s most prized items was a piece of wood shaped like a fish. Charles could always see something unique in everything he discovered.

He also loved to fish. It was said that if a fishing rod and hook were in reach he was ready to go anytime.

In his spare time he also enjoyed watching TV. There were times that the TV set was never turned off. He especially loved to watch sports, in particular football and racing. One of his favorite teams was the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Survivors include his parents, Johnnie and Mary Lane of Franklin; two sons, Brandon Lane (Vanja) of Charlotte, NC and Dustin Lane (Leslie) of Franklin; two grandchildren, Hank Lane and LouNell Dara Lane; one sister, Joy Lane Johnson (Chris) of LaGrange; two brothers, Parks Lane (Jean) of Franklin and Kem Lane (Shae) of Bowdon; and a number of other relatives and friends.
