Mr. Darnell Cook

Mr. Darnell Wallace Cook, age 91 of LaGrange, Georgia passed away at the Oak Grove Assisted Living in Monroe, Georgia Friday, September 25, 2015.

Funeral services for Mr. Cook will be conducted on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from the Stutts Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Neil Awbrey officiating.

The interment will follow in the Shadowlawn  Cemetery in LaGrange, Georgia. The family will receive guests one hour prior to service time.

Mr. Cook was born in Heard County, Georgia on July 7, 1924, the son of the late Ernest Walter Cook and Sammie Pauline Jones Cook.

He served his country honorably in the United States Navy where he obtained the rank of Apprentice Seaman, and was a Methodist by faith.

As a skilled carpenter he built many homes and businesses in the area. No building project was too hard for him  to conquer. He was also a very talented artist who especially enjoyed doing water colors and pencil drawings.

Gardening was a favorite pastime, and he grew the biggest and best Big Boy tomatoes around!

In his spare time he loved to watch Braves Baseball, and Falcons Football. He had a winning personality, and loved his family. He will long be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Junko (Robert) of Braselton, GA., Carlene White of Pensacola, FL., and Brenda Williams (Michael) of Newnan, GA.; one son, Ben Cook (Debbie) of Franklin, GA.; two sisters Martha Jane Garrett , and Linda Ann Wood; one brother, Mitchell Cook; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Stutts Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
