Mr. Donald Watson

Mr. Donald Joe Watson, age 61 of Roopville, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 01, 2017.

He was born August 12,1956 in Randolph County, Alabama to Ludene Hyatt and the late William Frant Watson.

He graduated from Heard County High School and earned multiple degrees from West Central Technical College. He retired as the Sr. Electronics Technician from Southwire Company in 2016 after 43 years of service. He attended Sardis Baptist Church.

He had a passion for serving and helping others. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and camping, but the one thing he loved most was spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Terry Watson; and a sister, Charlotte Fincher.

Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Hollaway Watson of Roopville; his mother and her husband, Ludene and Dick Morgan of Ranburne, AL; his children, Doug Smith (Christian) of Heflin, AL, Daine Smith (Chasity) of Bowdon Junction, Michael Watson (Jennifer) of Villa Rica, and Beverly Smith (Michael) of Ephesus, GA; grandchildren, Chris Welch of White Plains, AL, Robby Smith of Heflin, AL, Dakota Smith (Shelby) of Heflin, Al, Cheyenne Stavely (Tyler) of Heflin, Al, Haven Smith of Bowdon Junction, Samara Watson of Ephesus, Adalie Smith of Ephesus, Holton Smith of Ephesus and Will Watson of Villa Rica; three great grandchildren; brothers, Ralph Watson (Terri) Bowdon, and Ricky Morgan (Rhonda) of Ranburne, AL; sister, Lisa Benefield of Ranburne, Al; five nieces and four nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 04, 2017 at 4:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Darnell Teal officiating.

Interment will follow in Veal Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Josh Watson, Robby Smith, Dakota Smith, Brian Watson, Sam Keel, and Mark Harmon.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 03, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
