Mr. Garrett McClain

Mr. Willard Garrett McClain, age 63, of Forest Park, GA passed away December 7, 2017.

Funeral services for Mr. McClain will be conducted Saturday December 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Church Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the funeral.

Mr. McClain was born March 31, 1954 in Heard County to the late William Paul McClain and Mary Guinn Hunter McClain. He was a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church in McDonough, GA.

He worked as a freight dock handler for Southeastern Freight Lines.

He enjoyed activities with his hands and liked to work with wood. His fascination with classic cars led to building and collecting hundreds of model cars. He also liked to attend car shows and craft fairs with his family.

A lover of nature, he enjoyed walking by the creek and taking a trek through the woods.

His greatest love was for his family. He had a special place in his heart for his grandson. One of his favorite family outings was a Monday morning trip to the bowling alley.

Survivors include his wife, Karen McClain; son, Chris McClain of Forest Park; daughter, Heather McCargo (Adam) of Atlanta; grandson, William Garrett McCargo; two sisters, June Childs and Margarett Alsabrook both of Roanoke, AL; brother, Billy McClain (Angela) of Locust Grove; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

    Karen I am sorry. My husband and I went to your house in Conley to try to find you but another family lived there. Praying for your family.
