Mr. Garry Eugene “Pop” Embrey

Embrey, Garry obitMr. Garry Eugene “Pop” Embrey, age 80 of Franklin, Georgia, passed away December 29, 2016.

He was born October 30, 1936 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Roy Embrey and Pauline Stanford Embrey. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He worked as Post Master and also manager for Woody Trucking Company. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Lagrange. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, especially during deer season.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marguerite Sansoucy Embrey of Franklin; his children, Ricky Embrey of Franklin, Buddy Minis of Carrollton, Michelle (Travis) Adams of Canton, Debra Woody of Douglasville, Cheryl Ann Hulsey of Jacksonville, FL, Kerry Embrey of Hiram, and Paul (Sheila) Embrey of Hiram; sisters, Judy (Gerald) Robinson of Austell, and Oletha (Jerry) Jenkins of Cartersville; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be conducted Monday, January 02, 2017 at 1:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. In keeping with the family’s wishes, his body has been cremated.
