Mr. George Painter

Mr. George Columbus Painter, age 74 of Franklin, Georgia passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome, Georgia.

Funeral services for Mr. Painter were conducted on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from the Stutts Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ron Siegers officiating.

Music was provided by Mr. Painter’s wife, Wilma Painter, Ron Sigers, and Leesa Stutts Cothran.

Those serving as pallbearers were Jeremiah Bishop, John Alley, Koi Evangelista, Bailey Painter, Chris Painter, and Ricky Coker.

The interment followed the service at the Unity Baptist Church in Roopville, Georgia.

Mr. Painter was born in Chatsworth, Georgia on March 19, 1937, the son of the late Mamie Shuler Painter and Harley Painter. He was a faithful member of the Unity Baptist Church, and was a hard worker who enjoyed providing for his family.

Until his retirement he was a Machine Operator for Kason Industries in Newnan, Georgia. In his spare time he love fishing and had a special love of hunting. His family adored him, and he them. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Wilma Montealegre Painter of Franklin, GA.; son, Chris Painter of Pine Mountain, GA.; son-in-law, Gilbert Bishop (Alice); two sisters, Linda Stokes (Ricky) of KY., and Eva Allen (Junior) of Calhoun, GA.; three brothers, Ray Painter(Cindy), Charles Painter (Charlene) all of Dalton, GA., and James Painter (Claudette) of Chatsworth, GA.; and three grandchildren.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dale Smith Painter; and daughter Gidget Bishop.
