Mr. Greg Anthony Ward, of Ephesus, Georgia, passed away on January 25, 2017. He was 42.
Greg was born on June 12, 1974 in Carrollton, Georgia to Merlyn Ward and Claudine Ward Smith. He worked for Pritchett’s Body Shop in Heflin as a car body repairman.
He was a Christian by faith and attended Christian Faith and Worship Center. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but will be remembered as a loving son, husband, and father who loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, L.B and Ezell Ward and Joel and Mozelle Samples.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly McCormick Ward; his son, Luke Anthony Ward; his father and stepmother, Merlyn and Nanette Miller Ward; his mother, Claudine Samples Smith; his sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Don Wright; his nieces and nephews, Lacey Hiett, Evan Hiett, Layla Nunley, and April Bradley; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. (Georgia Time) at the Chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home. Bro. Rick Almond will officiate and Mrs. Julie Smith will offer a eulogy. Music will be provided by David Brown and Dean and Angie Starling.
Ken Richardson, Kevin Richardson, Keith Ward, Barry Smith, Bobby Smith, Evan Hiett, Zack Bradley, and Tony Nunley will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow the services at the McCormick Family Cemetery in Ephesus, Georgia.
