Mr. Harvey Lee Walston

Mr. Harvey Lee Walson, age 86 of Franklin, Georgia passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012 at the West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Georgia after an extended illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Walston were conducted on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Ellis Freeman, Don Jolly, and Bob Moffitt officiating.

Music was provided by Leesa Stutts Cothran and Tom Lipham. Those serving as pallbearers Eric Walston, Andrew Walston, Joshua Walston, Jonathan Betze, Andy Stallings, and Ricky Walston. The interment followed in the Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Walston was born on September 29, 1926, the son of the late Ida Lou Bailey Walston and Albert Floyd Walston. He served his country honorably during WWII. He was a gifted carpenter and took great pride in his work. He was a faithful member of the Harmony United Methodist Church. He loved working in his garden, and was an avid deer and turkey hunter. He was a kind gentle man who loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife,  Fannie Vaughan Walston of Franklin, GA.; two daughters, Dianne and Sammy Bailey of Franklin, GA., and Susan and Richard Betze of Oak Island, N. C.; two sons, Ronnie and Beth Walston of Mount Ulla, N.C.; and Randy Walston of Franklin, GA.; eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ida and Albert Walston.

The Tom Stutts & Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
