Mr. Jackson Charlie Parker, Jr.

Beard obitMr. Jackson Charlie Parker, Jr., age 84, of LaGrange, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Florence Hand Home.

Mr. Parker was a native of Wedowee, Alabama, born March 15, 1929 the son of the late Jackson Charlie Parker Sr. and Ethel Horton Parker.

Mr. Parker was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He loved watching wrestling on TV, had raised honey bees and was a gardener. He retired from Frito Lay Company as a truck driver, and loved to watch and play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his, daughters, Sheila and David Beard of Franklin, Sharon and Wishbone Pierson of Franklin, sons, Hugh and Sue Parker of Cleveland TN., Vernon and Melinda Parker of Franklin, Lee Parker of LaGrange, and Jeff and Katie Parker of Melbourne Fl., 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, sister, Erlene and Bud Arrington of LaGrange, brothers, Lewis Parker of LaGrange, and Freeman Parker of Valley, Al., and also his loving pet, Leroy.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Nira McRae Parker, three sons, Rev. Kenneth Michael Parker, Donald Wayne Parker and Ray Wyatt Parker, grandson, Brandon Ty Parker, sisters, Bessie Dion, Irene Veal, brothers, Chester, Clarence and Robert Parker.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jackie Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Glenn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm.
