Mr. James Gene Yearta, Sr.

Mr. James Gene Yearta, Sr., known by his loved ones as Wildman and Pawpaw, entered into eternal rest Sunday May 2, 2021.

He was born November 22, 1959 in Heard County to the late Jake Lemmie Yearta & Dovie Montana Daniel Yearta.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 13th at 5:00 PM from the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home.

The family will receive guests 30 minutes prior to the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, brothers, grandsons: Westly C. Mashburn and William T. Smith II, and granddaughter Kala D. Smith.

He is survived by his only son, James “Gene” Yearta, Jr., and the families of Tina C. Hannah and Lorie D. Starnes including eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In his younger years he worked for Staples Dairy in Lowell, Georgia. After that, he ran his own painting business for which he was well known.

Wildman will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

For his lifelong dedication and commitment to loving and caring for his dearly loved son; James has surely earned his heavenly reward. See you later Pawpaw.
