Mr. James Smith

Mr. James Ozzie Smith, age 91 of LaGrange, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2012 at the Twin Fountains Home.

A memorial service will be conducted for Mr. Smith on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from the Franklin Road Baptist Church, at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Frank Sledge officiating. The family will receive guests at the church one hour prior to service time.

Mr. Smith was born in Franklin, Georgia on April 19, 1920, the son of the late Mattie Delane Daniel Smith and Lee Allen Smith. He was a well respected paint contractor in Troup County.

Until his wife passed away, and his health declined he was an active member of The Franklin Road Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan Reynolds of Hogansville, GA.; four sons, Allen Smith (Sue) of LaGrange, GA., Michael Smith (Betty) of Newnan, GA., Bobby Smith (Betty) of LaGrange, GA., and Tim Smith (LaTaine) of Hogansville, GA.; two sisters, Shirley Eurick of Birmingham, AL., and Lee Davis of Franklin, GA.; one brother, Jack Smith of Jacksonville, FL.; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Pike Smith; and grandchildren, Lorelei and Jacob.

Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
