Mr. Jerry Folds

Mr. Jerry Eugene Folds, age 71 of Franklin, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 28 at the Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.

Funeral services for Mr. Folds were conducted Thursday, December 1, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. from the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, Georgia with the Reverend Roy Wysner officiating.

Jerry Nixon offered a moving tribute to his friend, and music was provided by Bryan and Luanne Owensby. Military Honors were presented by the Robbins Air Force Memorial Honor Guard.

The committal followed in the Carroll Memory Gardens in Carrollton, Georgia. Those serving as pallbearers were Benny Cosper, Stacy Lawson, J. T. Yearwood, Rodney East, Ray Johnson, Edward Bryan, and Melvin Cole.

Mr. Folds was born in Franklin, Georgia on October 3, 1940, the son of the late Sarah Frances Delaney Lizzie Beth Daniel Folds and Noah Lee Folds. As a young man he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.

For his gallantry he received the Outstanding Unit Award/SOGB-334/1964/DAF, National Defense Service Medal/AFM 900-3, AF Good Conduct Medal (11 July 63-10 July 66) AFM 900-3.

He was retired from the South Wire Manufacturing Company, where he was a Copper Rod Mill Operator. After his retirement he enjoyed assisting his wife Irene with her business, “Nana Rene’s Antiques and Collectables”.

He was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.”Mr. Jerry” loved music, and had a wonderful Tenor voice. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Fannie Wright, Myrtie Yearwood, Narcissa Cole, and Ruth East Denney; and one brother, C G Folds.

He is survived by his wife Irene Hill Folds of Franklin, GA.; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sharon Folds of Bremen, GA., four sisters, Effie Bea Cole of Franklin, GA., Jewel Bartlett of Franklin, GA., Ruby Thompson of LaGrange, GA., and Carolyn Johnson also of LaGrange, GA.; two grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law, Nick and Amanda Folds of Montgomery, AL., and Mitch Folds of Bremen, GA…
