Mr. Jesse M. Chipman, Jr.

Thumbnail (1)Mr. Jesse M. Chipman, Jr. 81, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. Chipman was born Feb. 22, 1935, in Hamilton, son of the late Jesse and Leone Lewis Chipman.

A resident of Troup County most of his life, he served in the National Guard, was a Mason, and was Baptist by faith.

He retired as a truck driver from West Point Pepperell after thirty years of service and then was employed as a security officer at Carter’s in Hogansville.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Gaddy Chipman of Hogansville; daughters and sons in-law, Debra and Phillip Collins, Vickie and Larry Bible, all of LaGrange, Sandra and Bill Shaw of Hogansville; sister, Phyllis Fincher of Franklin; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Kenneth Lamar Chipman and Benjamin Morgan Chipman; grandson, Eric Collins; and great-grandsons, Ben Mills and Alex Mills.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Milton Hall and Rev. Cleve Moore will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night.
