Mr. Jessie Milton Brown

Deacon Jessie Milton Brown was born March 8, 1938 to the late Jerome and Viola Brown in Roopville, Georgia.

At an early age, he united with New Hope Baptist Church in Franklin; where he faithfully served as a Deacon.

He was educated in Heard County School System and graduated from Mary Johnson High School in Franklin.

Jessie’s employment experience included Coca Cola Company in Newnan, Georgia; however, he was known for his 32 years of dedicated service at Franklin Aluminum. He also served as a proud foster parent for Heard County DFACS for over 10 years.

He was a faithful Mason of Willie Edith #500 Masonic Lodge where he served in various offices.

Jessie was a dedicated Atlanta Braves fan. On Saturday, January 25, 2020, his earthly journey was completed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Fannie B. Brown; granddaughter, Porchia Marsha Jones; and four siblings: Catherine McPherson, Willard Brown, Ella Wee Strickland, and Steven Brown.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, five children, Charlene (Tim) Jarrell, Carl (Mary) Brown, Cathryn Brown, all of Franklin, GA; Susan (Amos) Foster, Roanoke, AL; and Anthony Zachary, Atlanta, GA; one god-daughter, Veronica Strickland, LaGrange, GA; 11 grandchildren, Ghie Ghie Brown, Carlos Brown, Angelos Brown, Kemaiya Brewer, Trinitee Owens, Brionna Strickland, Tez Broome, Kewonia Slaughter, Lakeisha Slaugher, Keri Bowles, and Jaketa McClure; six great grandchildren; four siblings, Margret Trammell (Clarence Prothro), Carrollton, GA; Yvonne (Joseph) Rosser, Whitesburg, GA; Glenn (Grace) Brown, Atlanta, GA; and Jerome Brown, Atlanta, GA; special friends, Deacon Ross Thomaston, Deacon Tyrone Wilkerson, Mr. Jim Cranford, Myrna Stephens, and Carlton “Bopete” Jackson; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church, 325 New Hope Road, Franklin, GA.

Rev. Travis Blandingburg and Pastor Terry Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends  in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM.

Lakes Dunson Robertson Funeral Home of Lagrange, GA is in charge of the arrangements.

I worked with Jessie at Franklin Aluminum in 1963-1964 and 1965 until I was drafted into the Army, soon after coming back to Heard County I moved to Atlanta then in 2000 I moved back to Heard County and Jessie and I got back together, he was a good and faithful friend. Rest in Peace brother, Heard County has lost a good Man.
