Mr. Jimmy Randall Brown

Mr. Jimmy Randall Brown, age 70 of Carrollton formerly of Ranburne, Alabama passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Mr. Brown was born in Haralson County on August 16, 1941. He was the son of the late James Horace Brown and the late Loney B. Weldon Brown.

Mr. Brown was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Ranburne Masonic Lodge. He spent his career in law enforcement in Georgia and Alabama retiring from Heflin, Alabama Police Department.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Melinda Turner Brown of Carrollton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Joey Strain of Woodland, AL and Terrie and Allen Sikes of Roopville; one sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Howard Locklear of Buchanan; four grandchildren, Nathan Bradley, Cody Bradley, Dakota Strain, Jennifer Strain (and fiancé, Derek Smith); and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Van Brown officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry.

Interment will follow in Cleburne County Memory Gardens in Ranburne, AL with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Derrick Smith, Pete McCormick, Greg Howell, Jerry Hiett, Scotty Ledbetter, Tracey Lambert, Steve Tucker and Rodney Skinner.

Military honors will be provided by Haralson County Veterans Association and Masonic Graveside Rites will be provided by area Masonic Lodges.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
