Mr. John Skipper, Sr.

Mr. John Skipper, Sr., age 84 of Franklin, Georgia passed away at the Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Georgia on Tuesday, July 3, 2013.

Funeral services for Mr. Skipper were conducted on Friday, July 5, 2013, 2:00 P.M. from the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jeremy Royster officiating. Music was provided by Leesa Stutts Cothran, and Tonnie Adams. Those serving as pallbearers were Corey Hamlin, Kyle Skipper, Timmy Skipper, Jason Skipper, Jeremy Elkins, and Michael Brown. The interment followed in the Franklin City Cemetery.

Mr. Skipper was born in Franklin, Georgia on July 12, 1928, the son of the late Mary Ellen Noles Skipper and Zack Skipper. He had a tremendous work ethic and was respected by all he worked with and knew. He was retired from the Lafitte Mop Company where he was a supervisor. He always stood up for what he believed to be right. Mr. Skipper was a member of the Country House of Prayer. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Nell Breed Skipper; one daughter, Janice Elkins (David); four sons, John Skipper, Jr. (Debbie), Donny Skipper (June), Jessie Skipper, and Doyle Skipper (Deborah); ten grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren; all of Franklin, Georgia.

The Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
