Mr. Larry Jewell Brown

Mr. Larry Jewell Brown, age 78, of Franklin passed away April 12, 2021.

His funeral will be held Thursday April 15, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Revs. Scott Gray and Wayne Webb officiating.

Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Those serving as pall bearers will be Greg Brown, Phil Brown, Chad Brown, Zach Brown, Sammy Brown, and Jackie Brown.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Thursday afternoon from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service.

Mr. Brown was born December 10, 1942 in Randolph County, AL to the late Ezra Jackson Brown and Ruby Lee Smith Brown. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

He was the longtime owner and operator of Brown LP Gas Company. He was well known for supplying homes in West Georgia with propane to heat homes during the cold Georgia winters.

He also owned an RV park that supplied living space for travelers and temporary workers, especially for nearby Plant Wansley.

He eventually sold the propane business and the RV Park so he and his wife, Claris, could do one of the things they enjoyed most, traveling in our great nation.

Survivors include his wife, Claris Brown of Franklin; two sons, Greg Brown (Tammy) and Phil Brown both of Franklin; two grandsons, Chad Brown (Erica) of Silver Creek, GA and Zachary Brown (Joanna) of Hogansville; three great-grandchildren, Madi Rae Brown, Lane Brown, and Maddux Brown; four sisters, Colene Molnar of Abbeville, AL, Janice Mitchell (Terry) of Franklin, Linda Ballard (Bob) of Columbia, TN, and Mary Brown of Franklin; two brothers, Sammy Brown (Beverly) of Whitesburg and Jackie Brown of Roanoke; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Vivian Brown; a sister, Carolyn Hester; and two brothers, Jerry Brown and Aubrey Brown.
