Mr. Loyd Wilkes, 75 passed away December 14, 2012 at Southwest Christian Hospice in Union City, Georgia.
Mr. Wilkes was born April 27, 1937 in Randolph County, Alabama to the late Earnest and Mark Wilkes.
He united with the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and served faithfully as Chairman of the Deacon Board and Superintendent of the Sunday School. He was a very devoted and loved his Pastor and Church Family.
Survivors include a devoted wife of 33 years, Mrs. Josephine Wilkes, of Franklin, GA; three sons, Shedrant (Valerie) Wilkes, Franklin, GA; James Dixon, John Eric (Ella) Dixon, Carrollton, GA; two daughters, Sonja Hutchinson, Greenville, GA; and Yolanda Dixon, Carrollton, GA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Franklin, Georgia with Rev. Grady Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow in the Heard County Memorial Gardens.
