Mr. Mickey Noles

Noles ObitMr. Mickey Lenear Noles, age 65, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016.

Mickey was born in Roanoke, Alabama on September 17, 1950. He spent over 32 years as a dedicated officer of the law.

He was employed by Newnan Police Department, Coweta County Police force (which in March 1973 became Coweta County Sheriff’s Department), Heard County Sheriff’s Department, Fairburn City Police Department, and Grantville City Police Department.

His unfailing commitment was to the rule of the law and a compassionate application of it. Above all, his integrity behind the badge was of utmost importance.

Mickey possessed that strong moral strength to do the job and do it well. He knew that it required him to go to places and to great lengths where others simply would not go.

It was only when he realized that he no longer possessed the physical strength required to carry out his duties that he retired. He always knew that he had the compassion for those who needed him, the dedication to serve the community and the courage to face any situation.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Lenear (G.L.) Noles and Christine Arrington Noles and granddaughter Laurel Bailey Glover.

In 2013, Mickey’s life was forever altered by the tragic death of his son, Michael.

From 1986 to 2013 Michael learned the difficult lessons of life. Some very difficult decisions had to be made, but Mickey knew his only desire was to see Michael succeed, and Michael certainly did, thanks to the wisdom of his father and a supportive family.

He was a member of New Covenant Worship Center in Franklin. He was a licensed Minister with the Church of God, Cleveland Tennessee.

Mickey is survived by his devoted wife Elaine of 45 years. His daughters are Amy (Mac) Glover, Amanda (Joseph) Overton and Ashley Noles. He was the delightfully indulgent grandfather aka “Big Daddy” to Anna Grace Allen, Lora Glover, Andrew Allen, Lynsey Glover, Catie Levens and Maelyn Noles.

Also surviving is his only sibling, Virgil Dale Noles and his wife Renee, special friends Jimmy (Nancy) Pye, Sister-in-law, Mary Ann Mc Whorter, brothers-in-law Randall (Karen Jennings) and Wesley (Sherrie) Noles.

Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street where the family will receive friends on Sunday evening between 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

The service to honor his life will be on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel led by Reverend Simon Pressley, Reverend J. R. Holcomb.

Interment will be in the Ridgeway Church Cemetery in Heard County with Reverend Wesley Noles officiating.

  13. Lawrence T. Lipford says:

Lawrence Lipford says: I am honored to have been in the class of 1969 with Mickey Noles. He definitely gave our Class a bit of spice. He was a friend to all and I feel that it is an honor to be able to call him a friend of mine. I remember talking to Michael in the Piggly Wiggly about his Lord and Savior, Jesus. Now Mickey and Michael are rejoicing togather in the presence of the Lord. Us that are left on earth that knew and loved Mickey will truly miss him. Elaine, Children, and family have suffered a great loss. But when Jesus left this earth he sent us a comforter, the Holy Spirit which is so wonderful. One day all that have accepted Jesus as their savior will see Jesus and will also see Mickey again. The ones that through Mickeys influence were led to Christ will be so very glad to see him in the presence of Jesus. I feel that it is an honor to be able to have called Mickey Noles my brother in Christ and look forward to that day when I see him again in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus.
