Mr. Phil Summerlin

Mr. Phillip Stanley “Phil” Summerlin, age 56 of Franklin, Georgia passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 7, 2011.

Funeral services for Mr. Summerlin were conducted Saturday, September 10, at 2:00 P.M. from the Centralhatchee First Baptist Church in Franklin, Georgia with the Reverends Mark Williams and Wayne Webb officiating.

Music was provided by Rita Loftin, and Tim and Theresa Jackson. Those serving as pallbearers were Kenneth Gollet, Jerry Crockett, Emmett “Pepper” Jackson, Robbie Bussey, Rex Gosdin, and Jeremy Gosdin. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Summerlin was born in Heard County, Georgia on February 2, 1955, the son of Marguerite Young Summerlin and the late, Loye Evans Summerlin. He was a member of the Centralhatchee Baptist Church.

He was employed by the Ridley Farm in Franklin, Georgia where he enjoyed working in the out of doors. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Marguerite Summerlin of Centralhatchee, GA.; one son, Brian (Sarah) Wynn of Dublin, GA.; three sisters, Libby (Mark) Curry of Buchannan, GA., Linda (Dan) Atkins of Roopville, GA., and Lorraine (Allan) Tavel of Franklin, GA.; four brothers, Tony (Brenda) Summerlin of Ozark MO., Kenny (Debbie) Summerlin, Mike Summerlin, and Alan Summerlin all of Centralhatchee; two grandchildren, Alexis and Martin Wynn of Dublin, GA.; and a number of adoring nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Loye Evans Summerlin and brother, Ronnie Summerlin.

The Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia are in charge of arrangements.
