Mr. James Ray Adams, Sr., age 77 of Duluth, Georgia formerly of Franklin, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Georgia.
A memorial service was conducted for Mr. Adams on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. from the Hearn Family Cemetery at 208 Jeff Davis Road in Franklin, Georgia with the Reverend Brett Mathews officiating. Military honors were performed to honor Mr. Adams service to his country. The interment followed the service.
Mr. Adams was born in Heard County, Georgia on November 17, 1935, the son of the late Comella Edy Adams and Bill Adams. He was a Christian by faith and a former member of the Franklin United Methodist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. For his gallantry he received the Good Conduct Medal. He was a retired Computer Operator for the Nissan Corporation. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He will be miss by all who knew him.
He is survived by one daughter, Yvonne Jackson; one son James Adams, both of Florida; three sisters, Sara Middlebrooks of Fayetteville, GA., Lucille Scott of Franklin, GA., and Betty North (Charles) of Carrollton, GA.; three brothers, Watson Adams of Franklin, GA., Jack Adams (Mary) of Peachtree City, GA., and Johnny Adams (Jane) of Franklin, GA.; one sister-in-law, Lillian Adams also of Franklin, GA; and three grandchildren.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, C. B. Adams.
