Mr. Reid Rogers

Mr. Reid Rogers, of Heflin, Alabama, passed away on January 6, 2018. He was 63.

Mr. Rogers was born on February 23, 1954 in Macon, Georgia to the late Hoyt and Evelyn Rogers.

He worked at Southern Bell and BellSouth Communications for 32 years until his retirement in 2005.

He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He loved hard work, antique shopping, landscaping and flower gardening.

Though too humble to admit it, he was a master gardener and artist. But above all things, what can be said is that he loved his family with all his heart.

Survivors include his wife, Dale Rogers; his sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy and Priesley Rogers and Brian and Miranda Rogers; his grandchildren, Dylan, Mia, and Jensen Rogers; his brothers and sister-in-law, Tony and Debbie Rogers and John Rogers; and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and Tom Herndon and Hope and Stevie Skinner.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. (Georgia Time) at Macedonia Baptist Church.

Bro. Chad Burdette and Bro. James Benefield will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Rogers, Brian Rogers, John Rogers, Tony Rogers, Steven Skinner, Tom Herndon, Mack Crosson, Bill Owen, Steve Lovvorn, and Eric Lovvorn.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Burson, Steve Martin, Jason Norton, Mark Gibbs, Wallace Graves, Sam Herndon, Adam Herndon, Gordon Caldwell, Sonny Maner, Bennie Lasseter, Millard Chambers, Larry Dean, Truitt Haynes, Sam Jones, and Justin Jones.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Prior to the services, Mr. Rogers’ body will lie-in-state from 1:00 p.m. till the funeral hour.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 4:00 till 7:00 p.m.

Rainwater Funeral Home of Bowdon is in charge of the arrangements.
