Mr. Ricky Wade Barber, age 40 of Roopville, Georgia passed away on July 21, 2013, at the Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.

A memorial service was conducted on Friday evening, July 26, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. from the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home in Franklin, Georgia with the Reverend George Daves officiating. His brother’s Roger and Buddy Barber offered loving tributes to their brother. Friends served as pallbearers.

Mr. Barber was born in Carrollton, Georgia, on December 12, 1972, the son of Velma McCormick Barber and the late, David Gordon Barber, Sr… Before he became disabled he was a truck driver for the Wayne Davis Trucking Company. He was a Christian by faith, and loved watching Duck Dynasty, hunting, and fishing. His greatest desire was to be healthy enough to take his son’s hunting. He was a wonderful son, father, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Velma Barber of Roopville, GA.; two sons, Justin and Adam Barber also of Roopville, GA., two sisters, Debbie Hemmings, and Wanda Sellers both of Hogansville, GA.; two brothers, Roger and Serenity Barber of Villa Rica, GA., and Buddy and Stacey Barber of Hogansville, GA.; and step sister, Peggy and Merrill Ray of Elizabeth, LA…

He was preceded in death by his father David Gordon Barber, Sr…

In lieu of flowers a college scholarship fund has been set up at the Regions Bank in Franklin, Georgia under the name “Velma Barber for Justin and Adam Barber.” Donations can be made through any Regions Bank.

The Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.

    I have known Ricky and his family for a long time and I’m saddened to hear of his death. He always had a good sense of humor. He has a large extended family that needs our prayers and thoughts. RIP Ricky Barber. You will be greatly missed.
