Mr. Stanley Person

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” 

This became a reality for Mr. Stanley Richard Person on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at WellStar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia.

Stanley was born February 2, 1951, the second of four wonderful children born to the late Wylie D. Person and Mary Lou Johnson Person in Franklin, Georgia.

He was blessed to be the carbon copy of his sweet mother, he was always so cheerful, liked to joke and especially enjoyed laughing.

Many years ago, he accepted Christ and joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin.

Stanley was educated at Mary Johnson School of Franklin.

In 1982, he was united in Holy Matrimony to the gracious, Betty Ann McCurdy of Roanoke, Alabama; a union that has lasted thirty-nine precious years.

Stanley was an employee of the Mike Hogg Septic Tank, Inc. of LaGrange, Georgia until his health failed.

In addition to his loving, sweet parents, he was preceded in death by his only brother, Walter Douglas Person “Spook”.

There are many significant survivors to celebrate his legacy and cherish his memories, namely his loving wife, Betty Ann Person, LaGrange, GA; two siblings: Tuleda (Willie) Autrey, LaGrange, GA; and Tammy (David Green) Person, Franklin, GA; sharing the loving memories also is the sweet and kind sister-in-law, Sara Lee Person, Bowdon, GA; Tommy (Duchess) Dix is a wonderful brother-in-law and also a significant survivor that shares the memoires and love of our beloved Stanley Person.

Last, be definitely not least cherish the memories, the love, and the legacy is a beautiful and caring first cousin, Mary Catherine Dunson who has played the precious role of a second mom since the death of their biological Mother. Mary Catherine is a gift from God for Stanley, Tuleda, and Tammy.

There are blessings of many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends that will truly cherish the lovely memories of the late Stanley Richard Person.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Southview Cemetery in Lagrange.

Lakes Dunson Robertson Funeral Home of Lagrange was in charge of the arrangements.
