Mr. Talbot J. Glenn, Sr.

Mr. Talbot J. Glenn, Sr. was born March 18, 1928 to the late Hal B. Glenn and Carrie Jackson Glenn.

He departed this life January 11, 2012 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Georgia.

He joined Stateline Baptist Church at an early age. He was a faithful servant of the church where he served as an usher, helped maintain the church grounds, and other activities.

He also served in the United States Army during 1952 – 1954; and was honorably discharged. He was married to Marylin Freeman Glenn for 56 years.

He was the father of seven children, Floristine Ware, Union City, GA; George O. (Elaine) Glenn, Bowdon, GA; Carrie E. Glenn (deceased); Anita M. Glenn (deceased); Winston H. (Evelyn) Glenn, Temple, GA; Talbot J. Glenn, Jr., Franklin, GA; Danny F. (Kimela) Glenn, Douglasville, GA.

He was the grandfather of 13 grandchildren, Cokeithia Hunt and Shreetha Jackson, Franklin, GA; Derrick Glenn and Mahntez Glenn, Temple, GA; Montoyah Glenn, Anniston, AL; Deneitria Glenn (Undriel) Copeland, Columbus, GA; Lisa Shackleford, Villa Rica, GA; Vedgren Glenn, Carrollton, GA; Georgia Glenn, Bowdon, GA; Chandler Glenn and Danielle Glenn, Douglasville, GA; Lanita Glenn, High Point, NC; and Alexandria Christian, Temple, GA; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Glenn, Camryn Heard, J. P. Shackleford; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The Homegoing Celebration will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Stateline Baptist Church with Pastor R. L. Verden and Bishop Talbot Glenn, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.
