Mr. Thomas “Gene” Bonner

Mr. Thomas Eugene “Gene” Bonner, age 58 of Carrollton, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015.

He was born December 17, 1956 in Carrollton to the late J.P. Bonner and Effie Mae Porter Bonner. He worked for Thomasson Printing Company for more than 37 years and was associate pastor and adult Sunday school class teacher at Bethel Campground Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Jerry Bonner.

Survivors include his loving wife, Vickie Bonner of Carrollton; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Jennifer Bonner of Heflin, AL and Jacob and Tabbatha of Franklin; brother, Donnie Bonner of Douglasville; grandchildren, Daniel Bonner of Lagrange, Haleigh Bonner of Lagrange, Titus Bonner of Franklin, Gracey Turner and Dani Turner of Heflin, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 4:00 PM from Bethel Campground Church with Rev. Don McIntosh, Rev. Charles Davis and Rev. Joseph Bonner officiating. Vickie Bonner will also speak during the service.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Mark Shelnutt performing graveside service.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Bonner, Chris Hendricks, Josh Hendricks, Patrick Foreman, Chant Bailey, Derrick Collins, Alton Skipper, and Darrell White.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 21, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.
