Mr. Walker Hampton

Mr. Walker Eugene Hampton, age 19, of Franklin passed away October 9, 2021.

His celebration of life service will be held Saturday November 13, 2021 at 6:15 PM at Staples Stadium on the Heard County High School Campus. Coach Tim Barron and Rev. Johnnie Thornton will be among the speakers.

Walker was born September 16, 2002 in Troup County to Michael William Hampton and Dana Lynn Elkins Long.

He was a senior at Heard County High School. Among his favorite classes were culinary arts and auto mechanics. He was a shy, kind-hearted soul with a humble demeanor, which endeared him to everyone he knew.

In his free time he loved to listen to music of all kinds. His favorite TV shows were The Dukes of Hazzard and The Flash. He also enjoyed going to classic car shows and spending time outdoors.

Survivors include: his mother and step-father, Dana Elkins Long (Nicolas) of Franklin; father, Michael William Hampton (Cynthia Preast) of LaGrange; brother and best friend, Tyler Hampton; two sisters, Anamaria Mauldin (Cody) and Jazmine Culbreth; niece, Ansleigh Mauldin; grandparents: Hazel Hampton (Mark Fomby) of Hogansville, Ricky and Tiny Elkins of Franklin, and Michael L. Hampton of Texas; great-grandmother, Lindy Elkins of Franklin; and a number of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Selena and Eric Bledsoe, and Mark Long; and several great-grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations toward funeral expenses.
