Mr. William “Bill” Thompson

1707364_profile_picMr. William “Bill” Thompson, age 65, of Franklin, Georgia passed away on Thursday evening, November 19, 2015 at Tanner Medical Center.

He was born December 21, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of the late Lucian and Jean Thompson. He was a retired Firefighter, having served in the Carroll County and Heard County Fire Departments.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law: Austin & Ashley Thompson of Dallas, Georgia, daughter, Laney Thompson of Carrollton, and son, Christian Thompson also of Carrollton, Georgia; a host of brothers and sisters; and one grandchild, Lilly May Thompson.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM from Oak Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Noel Forrester officiating. The body will be placed in the church on Monday at 1:00 PM.

Those serving as pallbearers will be David Harmon, Dewayne Harmon, Clay Pollard, Clay Kierbow, Corey Cocker, Jim Short, and Scott Parrot. Firefighters in attendance will be seated as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Bill Thompson Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 215, Carrollton, Georgia, 30112.

    I am so sad. He was a customer at Franklin Pharmacy and I enjoyed waiting on him and talking to him when he came in. He reminded me of my dad because he had a lot of health issues like dad did. My prayers are with his family.
